It is the story of Democrats in a rural part of Pennsylvania trying to cope with and understand the gradual but steady descent of their home town and county into right wing madness.
We see these same frightening things all over Ohio. We face being bullied and ostracized by the conservative forces now trying to take permanent control of life and our governments and no longer interested in doing so fairly and democratically.
I want this group to be a journal of the events in our lives related to this political situation, like the events people described in the Politico story. Also, we can and should speculate about the future, and what we can or should or might do to shape it.
We are having more and more nightmares about the future, as the American right becomes more and more brazen and extreme.
We need to tell our personal stories of the happenings in our Ohio cities, towns and rural places related to the disintegration of our civic life, rather than just have these nightmares. Simply put, we need to vent!
This is the place for that venting, and for talk about the future.
